The Archbishop of Church of Uganda, Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, has urged the students at Uganda Christian University (UCU) to have hope for the future and humility for small starts.
He said all this during a service at St Andrew’s Cathedral, Mbale diocese on Friday, April 1, 2022, that concluded his pastoral visit at UCU Mbale campus.
“I know what it means to have nothing, to have little or nothing at all. It is not good to despise humble beginnings. Its okay to begin small. Besides, you can have something small and still make a big impact,” Archbishop Kaziimba said.
He additionally urged believers to stay resilient in prayer, as it is still the only relevant means of talking to God amid tough situations.
He trashed the celebration of 1st April as fool’s day, saying it should instead be celebrated by believers as a chance to set eyes on a new month, through praising God.
Archbishop Kaziimba appreciated the institution’s principal Mrs. Mary Manana and the guild president Gerald Wambalya for turning UCU Mbale campus into what he branded a model college.
The Archbishop’s visit comes shortly after that of Professor Aaron Mushengyezi (Vice Chancellor of UCU) and colleagues.
According to the Vice Chancellor, their visit at UCU Mbale campus is mainly motivated by an intent to share testimonies from the main campus, which is expected to have a positive impact on the students.
