The Teachers Service Commission Appoints Sharon J. Kisire as Vice Chairperson

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has appointed CS Sharon J. Kisire as its new Vice Chairperson. The appointment, which took effect on May 21, 2026, was announced via an internal memo on May 22, 2026. Kisire succeeds the former Vice Chairperson, Ms. Leila Ali Abdi, following the conclusion of her term.

Having served as a TSC Commissioner since September 6, 2021, Kisire has been actively involved in human resource policy formulation within the Kenyan education sector.

Professional Background and Experience

Kisire has accumulated over two decades of experience in human resource management and organizational leadership. Her career spans both the public and private sectors, with previous senior positions held at Safaricom, the Kenya Pipeline Company, the Kenya Wildlife Service, the National Oil Corporation, and the Mater Hospital.

Academic Credentials

Kisire holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Sociology from Kenyatta University, as well as a Diploma in Human Resource Management. In addition to her academic qualifications, she is a KASNEB Certified Secretary and a Certified Governance Auditor recognized by the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS). These credentials are expected to support her administrative responsibilities in her new role at the commission.
